Christian W.E. Haub
Mr. Haub is Founding Partner and Chairman of Emil Capital Partners. As a member of the fifth generation, he serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Tengelmann Group, Mülheim, Germany, one of the world’s largest family-owned and diversified retailing companies.
He is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P). Based in Montvale, N.J., A&P is one of the oldest and most revered food retailers in the United States, founded in 1859.
Prior to joining his family’s business, Mr. Haub spent several years in investment banking with Dillon Read in New York.
He is a graduate of the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna, Austria, where he also earned a Master’s degree in Social and Economic Sciences.
In addition to managing his business interests, Mr. Haub serves on several boards of directors; at Metro, Inc., a leading Canadian supermarket chain based in Montreal; Boston College (Boston, Mass.), and the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto ( Ontario, Canada).
Mr. Guldin is the Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Emil Capital Partners, with a background of over 15 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and family enterprises.
Prior to joining Emil Capital, Mr. Guldin held senior executive positions in corporate finance, human resources and real estate; previously serving as Senior Executive Vice President & Co-Chief Financial Officer of the Tengelmann Group, Chief Financial Officer of E. Breuninger, and Chief Strategy Officer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P). He also held senior consultant positions with CSC Index and PA Consulting.
Mr. Guldin holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, an MBA and a Ph.D. in Economics and Business Administration, and has been a visiting faculty member at several European universities including the European Business School, the University of Dusseldorf, the University of Stuttgart, HSG and the University St. Gallen in Switzerland.
Marcel Bens is a Senior Partner at Emil Capital Partners, and is a board director or a board observer of several of Emil Capital’s portfolio companies. Mr. Bens previously worked at a multi-billion dollar distressed private equity firm in New York City, and at a strategic and financial advisory firm in Sydney, Australia. Prior to that, he served in various key strategic and operational roles at a large automotive conglomerate, Daimler AG (formerly Daimler Chrysler AG) in the United States, Germany and South Africa.
Mr. Bens holds a joint master’s degree in mechanical engineering and economics from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York. He is trilingual in German, English and Dutch.
Scott E. Morris
Mr. Morris is a Partner at Emil Capital Partners.
Mr. Morris previously worked in the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions group at PepsiCo Inc. where he helped execute acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and minority investments globally. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Mr. Morris was an investment banker at Deutsche Bank Securities in New York where he helped advise clients in the Consumer Products, Retail, Technology, Media, Telecommunications and Business Services Industries.
Mr. Morris holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
David T. Tswamuno
Mr. Tswamuno is a Partner at Emil Capital Partners.
Mr. Tswamuno previously worked at Credit Suisse Securities in New York as part of an Opportunities Fund that focused on identifying and acquiring assets that were both strategic and financially attractive to the firm’s Investment Banking Units in Asset Management, Equities and Prime Services. Prior to this role, he worked in Investment Banking at Credit Suisse, advising clients in the Financial Services Industry.
Mr. Tswamuno holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Heer is an Industry Adviser to Emil Capital Partners and is currently the CEO of portfolio company, 2Beans. Prior to his current role, Mr. Heer was an Operating Partner with Emil Capital Partners and brings over 30 years of retail management, sourcing and gourmet food marketing experience to Emil Capital Partners.
A native of Switzerland, Mr. Heer was educated in Zürich and holds a Master’s degree in Sales and Marketing.
Mr. Zverev is an Industry Adviser at Emil Capital Partners. Prior to his current role, Mr. Zverev was an Investment Professional at Emil Capital Partners and also held roles with Rothschild and The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.
He holds an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester. Prior to Business School Mr. Zverev served in the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) of the United States Navy.
